Arti Gidwani
Arti was born in New Delhi, who spent the early years of her life in there. She afterwards moved and made her home in Jakarta. She first put her hands in clay in Singapore; there, she studied ceramics under the tutelage of a Studio Potter. Since moving to Jakarta, she have been experimenting and pushing the boundaries, self- teaching herself in the process. Arti’s reason for working with clay is because of its ability to capture ideas and emotions, and she has found a strong love in sculpting. She found her muse in everything around her, and celebrates all that is born from the earth. For the past 10 years, she has been a working potter. Her works have shown in various galleries and shows. Her current work is a commentary on the world around her today, shown through sculptures that are whimsical and colorful.
