Jakarta – Into the Woods is a design exhibition which introduces the finest wood makers and wooden goods from Nara Okuyamato, Japan to Jakarta, Indonesia. It is part of an ongoing programme that builds the link between designers in Japan and Indonesia named Design Camp @ Okuyamato with Door to Asia. For this exhibition Design Camp has selected 7 wood makers and 2 wood companies who will be presented in Into The Woods. Each wooden goods uses Yoshino cedar and Yoshino cypress trees found specifically in Yoshino woods located in Yoshino District, Nara Okuyamato, Japan. The wood makers areIchi, studio Jig, Izuru, Ch Style, Akari Kobo, Apple Jack, Sky Wood and MoonRounds. And the companies are HOUEI and Masuchu.
To foster the relationship between the design scene in Indonesia and in Japan, the planning of this exhibition involves collaborating with designers, architects, content curators, and organisation from Indonesia.
The collaborators here are Table Six, Grrad, Studio Dasar, and Athina Dinda.
